Cave de Tain is a family-driven cooperative with a legacy of winegrowing that spans four generations. Located at the base of the Hermitage hill, they cultivate 24 hectares alongside additional contributions from member winegrowers, focusing exclusively on wines from their own grapes. In 2014, they invested in advanced technology to enhance wine quality across all appellations, paving the way for innovations such as organic and sulfite-free wines. Committed to sustainability, Cave de Tain also fosters a new generation of winemakers who view themselves as active contributors to the winery’s mission. Vineyard
Granite soils and fluvio-glacial alluvial deposits, with terraces of rounded pebbles from the Rhône or loess. Because with Syrah, it’s all about pleasure, sharing, and a touch of escape, discover our irresistibly indulgent cuvées that spark good cheer, simply for the joy of being together.
Winemaking
Rigorous grape selection according to origin and ripeness. 100% destemmed harvest. Traditional alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel or concrete vats at 26°C (79°F). Short maceration of 10 to 12 days with gentle tannin extraction through pump-overs and délestage. Malolactic fermentation in tank Aging in tank to preserve fruit and freshness
Tasting notes
A bright red color with slight violet highlights. An indulgent, expressive nose of small red berries (redcurrant, blackcurrant) and black pepper. The palate is fresh and very crisp, with tangy notes of red fruits and licorice. The tannins are silky and very fine. A delicate, well-balanced mouthfeel
Food pairing
A Crozes-Hermitage that makes an ideal salad wine. Best served with Ardèche cured meats. This cuvée easily tolerates a brief stay in an ice bucket before serving Aperitif, International cuisine, Cheese, French cuisine, White meat, Poultry
